Wonderful volunteering effort

St Margaret's College has a proud reputation of community service and within the first two weeks of the academic year the Members' efforts have already been most impressive.

On Saturday, 29 February 2020, 24 Members volunteered to assist the Child Cancer Foundation with its annual street collection. As so many offered their services, the College was able to staff two separate collection points: at New World Centre City and Countdown.

The Treasurer of the Members' Executive, Joseph Luna, was instrumental in not only the organisation of the College's efforts for Saturday's Child Cancer street collection but also overseeing everything on the day. Here he is pictured with College Leader Noor Batra at the New World collection point.

Our Community Service endeavours for the year started two weeks ago during Orientation Week when the entire College participated in a clean-up of Dunedin's harbour area and the Andersons Bay inlet, filling up many bags of plastic rubbish that the sea had deposited along the shore.

Thank you and well done to all Members who have enthusiastically given up their time to volunteer for such great causes.
