Chinese New Year celebrated in style

The 2018 Executive Committee arranged with the Kitchen at St Margaret's to present a special themed dinner on Thursday, 22 February to celebrate the Chinese New Year.

It was amazing. And what a wonderful idea during Orientation Week.

The Executive decorated the entrance to the Norris Dining Hall beautifully; a perfect appetiser to what was waiting inside. The red velvet curtains had been drawn, lighting dimmed, candles lit, and tables expertly decorated (see accompanying photos). Every item had been perfectly placed.  The Dining Hall looked beautiful.

And then there was the food. Just amazing. For a second night in a row (the previous night we'd enjoyed a marvellous Greek dinner), the College's Food Services staff excelled and provided the most wonderful of Chinese food.

The menu included: 5-spice pork belly with bao buns, kung pao chicken, General Tso's tofu, broccoli with black bean sauce, bok choi with oyster sauce, sesame ginger carrots, sticky rice and sliced melon.

The Dining Hall was packed with appreciative Members. Even grace had to be delayed to allow time for most Members to be seated!
