Farewell to our College Leaders

What a wonderful job the 2019 team of College Leaders has done this year. And how sad it is to farewell this amazing group of young people.

All thirteen of them have given so much to the College, their floors and houses, and the College community. Their efforts have been invaluable and are greatly appreciated.

Throughout the year, between 6.30 and 7.30 pm each Tuesday, the College Leaders meet with the Dean of Students and Master during which various College matters are discussed such as any pastoral care concerns (the most important part of the meeting), upcoming events, floor/house matters, etc.

This week, however, being the final week of exams and the College fairly empty already, a formal meeting wasn't exactly necessary and it didn't take much to persuade the team that an ice cream "meeting" in the Master's residence would be a pleasant alternative. An outing to the infamous Rob Roy Dairy would normally have occurred but regretfully Dunedin's weather didn't play ball on Tuesday, 5 November, hence the team enjoying Magnum ice creams and each other's company indoors.

It's been a really busy year and time has flown. It feels just like yesterday that the team were starting off the year with their training programme at the end of January. And now, here we are, saying farewell to each other. College Leaders will leave on Sunday, 10 November together with those remaining Members who write their last exams on the 9th.

Thank you, College Leaders, for your wonderful contribution to the College during 2019. You will be hugely missed.

Signing off for 2019...
