Keep Dunedin Beautiful Award

At a special ceremony on Tuesday, 3 August 2021 in the Dunedin Public Art Gallery, the College was recognised by Keep Dunedin Beautiful for its big college-wide community service projects during Orientation Week over the last two years.

The projects involved a clean-up of the coastline around Andersons Bay inlet and Portsmouth Drive under the auspices of Our Seas our Future.

In 2021, College Members collected an equivalent of 28 bags of trash or approximately 1,680 litres in total, all diverted away from our marine environment. There were 1,530 litres of non-recyclable trash, 120 litres of mixed recycling and 30 litres of glass.

Each year, Keep Dunedin Beautiful recognises various community groups, individuals and schools for their environmental work. This year, the College was nominated for the Taylor Community Price Shield and was commended for its efforts in cleaning up part of the Dunedin harbour coastline.
