Ethos

The College exists for its community of Members, and their welfare is its main concern. It provides a supportive, respectful and caring family-like atmosphere, excellent academic support and enjoyable companionship. There are also plenty of opportunities to participate in cultural, musical, sporting, and social activities.

In keeping with the principles that exist in most homes, we expect College Members to moderate their behaviour in accordance with our four core values (the four Cs):

  • Care (look after your own wellbeing and those around you)
  • Courtesy (treat others respectfully like you would like to be treated)
  • Consideration for others (be aware of how your behaviour will affect others in the community)
  • Common sense (only do things that feel sensible, logical, and right)

Our experience is that the regular exercise of the above four Cs is sufficient to ensure the happiness, safety and security of people and property within the College.

He aha te mea nui o te ao?
He tangata! He tangata! He tangata!
What is the most important thing in the world?
It is people! It is people! It is people!
