Credit Card Payment Surcharges

As of Thursday, 22 August 2024, the following surcharges apply for online and in-person credit card payments:

Online

NZ bank issued Visa/Mastercard	$0.30 + 1.4%*
Non-NZ bank issued Visa/Mastercard	$0.30 + 1.9%*
* Percentage charges are rounded up to the nearest cent

The total surcharge applicable will be displayed on the payment page before confirmation of the transaction.

In-Person

In-person credit card payments are subject to a flat 2.5% surcharge. This surcharge applies to both tap-and-pay and card-inserted transactions where Credit is the account selected.

N.B. payments made using a debit card where Cheque or Savings are selected are not subject to a surcharge.
