St Margaret's men's futsal team played against Aquinas College on Saturday, 12 August in a fast-moving and exciting game.
For those who haven't played or watched futsal before, it's an indoor soccer game played with just five players. It's a fast-moving game and requires all players( except the goalkeeper of course) to defend, attack, and be all over the court. You certainly get a good work-out!
Having watched the College's women's team play the Saturday before, I watched the men's team this weekend. There weren't any subs available this weekend and so the entire team, unlike their opponents, was on the court for the entire game. I was very impressed with their football skills and level of fitness.
Although they didn't win the game (the score was 6-2 to Aquinas), the effort and commitment was 100%. A great game.
