The College farewells two long-serving staff this month, namely Jenny Pilgrim (Administrator) and Eddie Blower (Accountant) who are both retiring in mid-December after 13 and 8 years of service respectively.
Everyone knows Jenny! With her office situated in the College's entrance foyer, all Members, visitors and guests over the last 13 years will have been met by her friendly smile and greeting. Always professional, Jenny has made a lasting impression on hundreds of young people who have been part of the College community since she took up employment in September 2006.
Jenny has been a very loyal and conscientious staff member, always paying attention to detail and ensuring that tasks are attended to on time. She is very patient despite the many interruptions she receives, and has a wonderful sense of humour. The College has been incredibly fortunate to have had Jenny as part of our community for so many years.
Eddie has been the College's accountant since May 2011 and an extremely wise, knowledgeable, steady and guiding hand over the College's finances. Being an independent and self-reliant College, our finances are obviously very important and Eddie has played a vital role in ensuring that there's always sufficient cash available to pay the bills. Of course, there's much more to being an accountant than just cash, and Eddie has been meticulous in ensuring that the College's "books" were always in good order.
The College is very grateful to Eddie for his cautious approach, eagle eyes, conscientiousness, guidance, wisdom, experience and understanding. He is entirely trustworthy, has a wonderful sense of humour and his work ethic is second to none.
The College is losing two thoroughly decent and wonderful members staff who will also be thoroughly missed. Jenny and Eddie were farewelled and thanked by College staff at a special morning tea on Thursday, 5 December. They are wished a very happy, relaxing and well-deserved retirement.
