On Sunday 10th March, New Zealand celebrated Commonwealth Day which was commemorated with civic services held around the world.
Dunedin’s St Paul’s Cathedral held their own civic service which was attended by Dunedin City Councillors, members of the Victoria League, recipients of Queen’s Honours and representatives from various groups within the community.
Seven St Margaret’s members represented the College in the service by carrying the College gonfanon* in the entrance procession, and forming a colour party to carry the Commonwealth flag.
The service was very thought provoking, and promoted understanding on global issues, international co-operation and the work of Commonwealth organizations around the world. We all had a great time getting involved in the Dunedin community by being apart of the Commonwealth Day Civic Service.
