The College's talented choir, ably conducted by Ellen Walters, provided a wonderful rendition of Michael Jackson's "Heal the world, make it a better place" at a special Graduation Service of Thanksgiving on Saturday, 12 May.
May is graduation season in Dunedin when 1,953 people will receive their degrees over four ceremonies on 12 and 19 May in the Dunedin Town Hall.
Immediately preceding the May 12 graduation procession down Dunedin's George Street, the Otago Chaplaincy Team organised a lovely Graduation Service of Thanksgiving in the Hunter Centre opposite the School of Dentistry.
The service was led by Father Mark Chamberlain, one of the University Chaplains, and including two songs, a bible reading (Luke 24:13-35), a short reflection by Rev Greg Hughson (also a University Chaplain, a Fellow of St Margaret's and the College's Chaplain), prayers of gratitude and intercession, and of course the singing of that beautiful song by our choir.
I enjoyed taking some time out from the busyness of graduation day to attend and participate in the service.
Enjoy the accompanying video of the St Margaret's College Choir singing at today's thanksgiving service.
