One of St Margaret’s core values is that of giving, and despite their busy schedules many of our students find the time to give back to the community.
At the start of the year is the annual trip out to Orokonui Ecosanctuary, where time is spent clearing out unwanted plants to allow native fauna to grow and flourish.
As well as doing their bit for the environment St Margaret’s students take part in street appeals throughout the year, raising money for a number of charities and causes including Daffodil Day and The Child Cancer Foundation.
Most recently CanTeen launched their #THUMPCancer campaign, and organised a day-long appeal. Students took hour-long shifts throughout the day and even our very own master Dr Tustin pitched in!
We are so lucky to be able to live our lives free of sickness - give or take the odd fresher flu - and it’s important to think of those who are not so fortunate, and to do our bit where we can. Even an hour spent collecting money can make a big difference!
