Highlights of Semester 1 include:
Welcoming our new St Margaret's cohort during orientation 2024.
A wide range of in-house and wider University Orientation activities, including Intercollege Sports Day, floor baking competiton, toga party, Speed friendship and the spicy noodle competition.
Community Service days included a variety of activities, such as cleaning up Bracken and the Leith River, performing bike repairs, pinning poppies, distributing pamphlets, gardening for Jonathan Rhodes Kindergarten, and cleaning the streets on St. Patrick's Day.
After a successful semester of Intercollegiate events, we currently are sitting 1st in the sports competition, 4th in the games competition and 1st equal in the cultural competition. Highlights from these events include: 1st in Men's Competitive Badminton, 1st in Mixed Recreational Badminton, 2nd in Mixed Badminton, 2nd in Waka Ama Festival, 2nd in Mixed Recreational Football, 2nd in Chess, 2nd in the Recreational Dash, and an epic performance in the cultural competition from the Pacifica, K-Pop and Southeast Asian groups, who dazzled a large audience at the Regent theatre with their entertaining and inspiring performances.
Formal dinners with invited guests have included Paul Cooper (Dean of Dentistry), Dr Latika Samalia (Senior Professional Practice Fellow Department of Anatomy and Associate Dean Pacifica Academic for Biomedical Science), Professor Lisa McNeill (Associate Dean Post-Grad Research Commerce), Jules Raddich (Mayor of Dunedin) and Cherry Lucas (Deputy Mayor of Dunedin).
