"With over 100 submissions (116 to be exact), the Art Competition went super successfully and that is all thanks to you guys and the amazing talent among the Members."
Those were the words of the organiser of this year's St Margaret's Art Competition, Imali de Silva, who is also the President of the Executive Committee of the Members' Association this year.
The Competition comprised five sections, namely painting, drawing, photography, literary and other. Competition judges for the first three sections were local artists Pauline Bellamy (also a College Fellow) and her husband John Bellamy of Bellamys Gallery in Macandrew Bay.The Dean of Students, Jill Spencer, judged the literary and other sections.
All the entries were specially displayed in the Valentine Common Room (VCR) for Members to enjoy after our Formal Dinner in the Norris Dining Hall on Sunday, 11 September. The display continued until after dinner on Monday, 12 September to give everyone including staff an opportunity to view the wonderful work that Members produced.
Huge and appreciative applause was given to each of the following Members for their winning entries at the awards event in the VCR on Sunday evening:
