The College's Annual Ball was held on Saturday, 17 August. The surprise venue was the wonderful, modern foyer area of Toitu Museum which included a real train, just perfect for The Polar Express theme for the evening.
Social Representative on the Executive, Lauren Phang, and her Ball Committee did the most amazing job in organising this year's fantastic Ball which was enjoyed by 190 Members, College Council Members and partners.
To help set the mood for the evening, Members and their partners enjoyed a pre-ball gathering in the tastefully decorated Valentine Common Room at the College.
At around 6.45 pm, six buses arrived at the College to convey some very excited young people to the venue. At St Margaret's the tradition is for the location of the Ball to be kept a secret, only to be revealed upon arrival.
At Toitu, a beautiful red carpet up the stairs into the building awaited the Ball-goers before their train tickets were properly punched by the inspectors before being allowed to enter where they were greeted by the Master and his wife, the Dean of Students and his partner, and the President and Social Representative of the Executive Committee.
Then followed the most wonderful of Balls which included special musical and dance performances by many of the Members during dinner. These items were amazing and thoroughly enjoyed by all.
As you can imagine, hundreds of memorable photos were taken throughout the evening, with just a few being included here for readers to enjoy.
All credit must go to Lauren Phang (pictured below) and the Ball Committee for the most memorable of Balls.
