Inspirational message at Mid-winter Christmas Dinner
Guest speaker Robbie Francis, the Director of The Lucy Foundation, gave an amazing talk to Members as part of the College's Mid-winter Christmas Dinner held on Sunday, 15 July.
In just 10 days since launching the College's international outreach project, $1,290 has already been donated for the benefit of the desperately poor medical clinic situated in the small village of Kayima in the far north-east of Sierre Leone (West Africa).
Prof. Henaghan lists his interests on the University web page as: “Family Law, Law Relating to Children (custody/access, child abuse, medico-legal issues) Human Genome Law, Relationship Property, The Judiciary and judge-made Law.” It was very clear from his talk that his interests range a great deal wider than those ‘official’ ones!
An unusual and fascinating presentation, this. Dr. Tripp is a Medical Teaching Fellow in the Physiology Department, a post he has held for over 4 years. He spent 7 years working in Cambodia, where an outstanding feature of his work was to look for the heart of the problems faced by ordinary people, and attempt to address some of those fundamental causes. And runs ultra-marathons on the side.
